Neil McCann slams Rangers ace Ridvan Yilmaz for what he did in 3-0 win v Celtic
Neil McCann slammed Ridvan Yilmaz for his scuffed challenge on Kyogo Furuhashi in Rangers win over Celtic at Ibrox.
The left-back tried to get his foot around Kyogo in the opening ten minutes of the clash, but instead of getting his foot behind the ball, he scuffed his clearance which almost resulted in Celtic scoring the opener.
The Gers left Ibrox with all three points to their name after they beat the Bhoys 3-0 on 2 January as they cut the gap between themselves and Brendan Rodgers’ men down to 11.
Speaking live on Sky Sports Football (2 January, 15:06pm), McCann shared his thoughts on the precarious position Yilmaz found himself in.
“Just look at Yilmaz, he’s just absolutely sleeping, he’s got that horribly wrong,” he said.
Rangers did Philippe Clement and their fans proud against Celtic
Rangers leaving the Old Firm with all three points to their name was likely the last thing that most people expected to happen on Thursday.
Rodgers’ men have been on top form this season and, combined with the recent performances that the Gers have put on, it felt like they were set for failure from the start.
Throughout the first half especially, Clement’s men were on the front foot and somewhat surprisingly took the game to Celtic more than once.
The fact that the absences of Jack Butland and James Tavernier were hardly felt is an achievement in itself as both are usually key cogs in the Belgian’s system.

Although 11 points still separate the two in the league, it feels like with this win behind them, Rangers could go on and do the impossible and perhaps mount a late title challenge in the second half of the season.
Which, realistically, is the main thing that fans want from their team at the moment.
