James Tavernier a laughing stock after what he said about Rangers draw
James Tavernier shared another worthless sentiment after Rangers dropped two points against Motherwell.
Rangers look all but out of the title race after their 2-2 draw with Motherwell on Sunday (29 December) saw the gap from Celtic increase to 14 points and Tavernier’s comments after the game are painfully repetitive.
The result could see Philippe Clement sacked and yet the feeling gauged from Tavernier’s comments in a post-match interview after the game (Rangers on X) almost make it seem like he doesn’t really care about the situation, as he repeated the same old “obviously disappointed” line.
Rangers need leaders at the forefront of a revival, not someone to come out after every poor result with the same repetitive nonsense as Tavernier does. It lacks sentiment and understanding as to how supporters are currently feeling.
Rangers downfall back on track after Motherwell draw
Rangers were fortunate to come away with a point with the hosts having two goals disallowed before the Gers were able to level the game through the heroics of Hamza Igamane.
It leaves the Gers a daunting 14 points behind Celtic leaving them with little to no chance of having any success in the league, if there was any to be had anyway given how poor they’ve been this season.
Rangers were woeful at the back and until the introduction of Igamane, their attacking woes continued with a complete lack of quality in the final third.

Whether Clement does indeed succumb to the sack remains to be seen, but given the gasp from the top, his job, not for the first time this season, looks untenable.
A major rebuild is going to be needed at Ibrox this summer to allow the club to return to the position of being able to compete with Celtic.
