Danilo footage: Rangers ‘shameful’ as video clip shared on official channel
Rangers have acted in a “shameful” manner to put Danilo up for press duties on Friday, according to Four Lads Had a Dream.
The prominent Gers blog and podcast page shared on X [27 December] their thoughts on the club putting the forward in front of the media instead of one of the “leadership group” at Ibrox.
Tensions can be considered once again high ahead of Sunday’s game at Motherwell [29 December], after Philippe Clement’s side were beaten in stoppage time against St Mirren on Boxing Day in Paisley.
Four Lads posted: “Shameful putting [Danilo] up to talk when the ‘leadership group’ is posted missing.”
Rangers fans baying for blood after St Mirren defeat
Rangers are taking the approach of sending a player to address the media who can be considered relatively blameless in comparison to some of the elder statesmen at Ibrox.
It will have been a difficult experience to navigate for Danilo himself, and even as much for the supporters who wanted stern answers to questions on the team.
Rangers looked to have been making quiet progress in recent weeks but are now set back by injury concerns, reeling from recent officiating controversies and have now lost further league ground.
Clement and his charges simply must get a positive result from the trip to Motherwell to at least gloss 2024 in a professional manner.
The Old Firm at Ibrox against Celtic was one the fans were excited for more than most recent derbies [2 January], but now there might be a little more apprehension in the air.
In other Rangers news, one player’s display at St Mirren could be the final straw for a January exit.
