Clement has easy Rangers transfer decision to make, he could bring in new faces
Philippe Clement has just started to get Rangers fans back on his side after a rather poor start to the 2024/25 season.
The Belgian’s role at Ibrox has been under severe scrutiny since the start of the season as the Gers find themselves second in the Scottish Premiership.
Their recent upturn in form has no doubt been down to the impressive performances that players such as Hamza Igamane and Ianis Hagi have put in recently with Clement having a lot to thank the duo for.
However, a recent report from Italian outlet La Gazzetta dello Sport (22 December), has reported that Genoa are looking to make a move for Hagi in the January transfer window.
The Serie A side have recently been taken over by Romanian businessman Dan Sucu who seems to want to bring his fellow countryman to Italy as the first transfer of his tenure which could end up being an ideal situation for Clement.
Why Philippe Clement must let Ianis Hagi exit Rangers
The relationship between Hagi and Clement was somewhat difficult at the start of the campaign but since an agreement was reached about his contract with the club, things seem to have been going better for the Romania international.
Over the last month or so, the way Rangers have turned their fortunes around has been nothing short of impressive and Hagi is one of the main reasons for that.
However, with the Gers’ previous history of missing too many chances to sell the playmaker in the past, a Serie A side coming in for him in January could be ideal.

Although this may seem like a harsh way to deal with the future of Hagi to fans, when you look into it, it feels like the smartest move for all those involved.
Bajrami was brought in during the summer window to make that number 10 spot his own and with the form that Tom Lawrence showed earlier in the season, it feels like the Ibrox outfit have been given an early Christmas gift with the interest of Genoa.
A January move for the attacker could also fund the arrival of a few new faces to the Ibrox camp, which, if the Gers want to mount a late title challenge, feels like it could be essential.
