Neil McCann was wowed by the "first class" attitude of Rangers star Ianis Hagi as the Gers defeated Dundee FC on Saturday.

The Gers secured a 1-0 victory against Dundee FC on 21 December with Hagi playing a starring role after being snubbed for large parts of the season.

Hagi impressed in the encounter and his impact in the game leaves questions to be asked over his future at Ibrox having been linked with an exit in favour of a move to Genoa (La Gazzetta dello Sport) but McCann was blown away by his attitude despite the speculation.

"I felt as though he could offer something at Rangers," McCann explained via Sportscene (21 December).

"It says a lot about the boy's attitude which I feel is absolutely first-class. He's completely reinvigorated that front line."

Ianis Hagi has a big role to play for Rangers

Throughout the current campaign, the Gers have lacked the cutting edge in the final third and their league position showcases that with them eight points behind Celtic having also played an extra game.

Against Dundee FC, Hagi showed Philippe Clement what he has been missing out on with a solid performance from the Romanian that blew pundit Derek Ferguson away after his effort from distance hit the crossbar.

His ability on the ball and creative assets are rarely matched by anyone else at Ibrox and his showing on Saturday will surely cause some second thoughts before any decision is made on his potential exit.

With regular game time, Hagi can play a crucial role for Rangers and his inclusion must be consistent going forward.

If Clement wants to keep his job, utilising his best players will go a long way to achieving that and the 26-year-old is certainly one of them.
