Rangers v Dundee – Philippe Clement makes shocking mistake
Philippe Clement has made a surprising call as he’s named his starting eleven for the Rangers game against Dundee on Saturday.
The Belgian has included Jefte in his starting eleven instead of Ridvan Yilmaz, despite the former’s struggles against Celtic in the Scottish League Cup final.
Gers will be hoping to pick up maximum points when they take on Dundee later, but will be without the services of the injured John Souttar.
There are adverse weather conditions expected for the game so it’s not going to be smooth sailing for the hosts.
Jefte is a defensive liability for Rangers
Jefte has struggled defensively in recent weeks and this was the ideal game to start Yilmaz.
He has returned from injury and come off the bench and it’s time to give him at least a half of football.
Against a side like Dundee, Gers are expected to be in cruise control and this could’ve been ideal for the Turkey international to return to match fitness.
Rangers should have no trouble picking up the three points against Dundee
The disappointment of the Scottish League Cup final should not overshadow their capacity to bounce back, particularly at Ibrox where they’ve maintained a formidable record.
Dundee, despite recent wins, have shown vulnerability in defence, conceding a significant number of goals this season, which plays into Gers’ hands with players like Hamza Igamane in good scoring form.
Additionally, the Ibrox outfit’s squad depth, even with some injuries, still provides options and quality that should outmatch Dundee.
In other Rangers news, the club are seriously considering making a bid to secure the services of an international player in January.
