Patrick Stewart footages emerges from Rangers on Sky Sports already

Patrick Stewart arrived at Ibrox on Monday to start as the new Rangers chief executive officer, Sky Sports has shared.

In footage relayed by the news outlet on their official X account on 16 December, the former Manchester United chief can be seen leaving a car and entering the stadium.

The Gers confirmed Stewart’s appointment on 25 November and revealed that he would join a day after the Premier Sports Cup final between the Light Blues and Celtic.

Fraser Thornton will also assume office as chairman, replacing John Gilligan at the Bears.

Patrick Stewart to lead charge in new Rangers era

After turmoil in the last few months due to the departures of James Bisgrove and John Bennett, the Light Blues have finally found replacements.

The development will surely lead to stability returning to the Glaswegian outfit, with Stewart expected to take centre stage going forward.

Philippe Clement could’ve found himself in hot water before the backroom change was completed, but the Belgian manager has allayed doubts about his future.

Rangers gave Celtic a run for their money at Hampden Park on Sunday, losing 5-4 on penalties after a 3-3 draw and also put in an encouraging performance in the Europa League in the Tottenham draw.

The Light Blues are in a good position to qualify for the knockout round of the European competition, and Clement should put all his eggs in that basket for the rest of the campaign.

While the Gers won’t be the favourites to win the Europa League, they only need to look at their heroics from 2022 for motivation.

Stewart will want Clement to make further progress at Ibrox, and the inability to do so could force the CEO’s hand between now and the end of the season.
