Rangers news as £8m claim emerges in brand new revelation

Stevie Clifford claims that if Castore are paying £7-£8million then Rangers must stick with them for next season.

The Four Lads Had a Dream blog owner has reacted to Footy Headlines’ story from 13 December where they claim that Gers have decided not to continue with Castore.

Instead, they will opt for Umbro to be their kit supplier from the 2025-26 campaign.

Clifford wrote: “We need whoever will pay us the most & offer the best service, that’s the reality. The clamour for the brands confuses me when they will churn out the same generic strips. If Castore are paying us £7-8m a year, making good strips then we stay in my humble opinion, yes.”

Rangers will demand decent money from Umbro as well

Despite the financial incentive, Castore have faced substantial criticism for their kit quality, with issues of poor fit, material issues and delivery delays.

These problems have affected not only fan satisfaction but also potential player performance.

The decision to switch suppliers could be driven by these quality concerns, aiming to restore trust among supporters and ensure the team has reliable, high-quality gear.

Moreover, Rangers would likely expect a similar financial package from Umbro or another supplier, considering the club’s marketability and historical success with Umbro kits.

The move to Umbro could also be about leveraging a brand with a rich history in football that might bring both better quality and broader appeal, which could lead to increased sales and brand value, even if the financial terms are comparable to Castore’s offer.
