Rangers v Tottenham team news: Never-before-seen duo spotted on Ibrox pitch

Malachi Hardy and Alfie Dorrington look set to be involved for Tottenham when they play Rangers in the Europa League on Thursday night.

Spurs account Lilywhite Rose took to X on 12 December to share an image of the two teenage centre-backs training at Ibrox ahead of the European showdown in Glasgow.

Hardy, 16, and Dorrington, 19, have never played a senior match for Spurs but Ange Postecoglou seems as though he’ll be naming them at least on the bench when his team news is reveal for the clash with Rangers.

Tottenham injury news v Rangers as Postecoglou reveals crisis

Postecoglou’s under pressure at Tottenham and Rangers could put a major dent in his hopes of staying employed by the Premier League club if they win at Ibrox on Thursday night.

Defensively, the former Celtic boss is facing a crisis at Spurs ahead of his side’s trip to Scotland.

Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven and Ben Davies are both ruled out of the game, meaning that young Archie Gray – who’s spent most of his career playing in the midfield or at right-back – could be drafted into a centre-back role against the Gers.

As quoted on Tottenham’s official website on 11 December, Postecoglou admitted that Gray is “probably the one” to partner Radu Dragusin in the middle of his defence.

It’s no doubt good news for Rangers, whose form has picked up in the last couple of weeks.

It’ll still be a tough game but a lightweight 18-year-old midfielder playing at centre-back will surely help Philippe Clement’s cause as he aims to seal a spot in the Europa League knock-out stages.

In other Rangers news, the Gers are unable to afford to keep this in-form player at Ibrox.
