Rangers consult specialist agency as Scotsman seals Ibrox move
Rangers decided to go with Patrick Stewart as their new CEO after a specialist recruitment agency provided his name among others, according to Chris Jack.
The Rangers Review journalist reported on 25 November that sources have insisted he will get the autonomy to run things as he pleases at Ibrox to clearly defined approval lines.
On 25 November, the club announced that Stewart had been officially appointed as their Chief Executive.
Jack wrote: “Stewart emerged as the prime candidate after the names provided by a specialist recruitment agency were put to Rangers.
“The former interim CEO of Manchester United has earned the backing of the board. Now he must, as sources insist he will, be given the autonomy to run Rangers his way according to clearly defined approval lines.”
Patrick Stewart needs to address Philippe Clement’s future at Rangers
Rangers supporters are likely eager for Stewart to address the managerial situation at Ibrox, particularly considering the recent performances under Philippe Clement.
Given Stewart’s autonomy and his background in high-level football administration, fans will expect him to have a strategic plan for the future, which includes life after Clement.
His role involves not just managing the day-to-day operations but setting the club’s direction, which includes key decisions like managerial appointments.
With Clement’s tenure under scrutiny due to lacklustre results, Stewart’s first major task could be to evaluate the manager’s future.
If he decides a change is necessary, fans would hope the Scotsman acts decisively.

By preparing a shortlist of potential replacements during his onboarding phase, he could ensure a seamless transition once he takes the helm, allowing Gers to maintain momentum and challenge for honours without delay.
In other Rangers news, Chris Jack claims that the club are in contact with a European side about a first-team player.
