Michael Beale slammed after what he’s said about Rangers – ‘Crazy talk’

Craig Moore has dismissed Michael Beale’s recent statements about people within Rangers wanting him to fail at Ibrox as “crazy talk”.

In an appearance on Inside The Academy’s YouTube channel on 11 November, Beale suggested the existence of “snakes” at a couple of clubs he has managed.

However, Moore reckons the English tactician had his way in Govan and cannot blame anyone else for things not working out for him.

“Michael Beale, when he was involved at the football club and did get the head coach’s role, he was pretty much in control of everything at the football club, especially in regards to the players”, Moore said on The Go Radio Football Show [21 November].

“I think he got in what he wanted to get in and therefore, could coach them in the way that he wanted, and it didn’t work out for him.

“I can’t see or imagine that you would have people from within wanting him to not be successful. I think that is crazy talk.”

Michael Beale should have avoided unnecessary Rangers statements

It is worth noting that Beale did not explicitly mention Rangers in his comment, but for someone who has had a total of three managerial stints, a “couple” does not leave much out.

He should have known he was risking the wrath of fans of all the clubs he has managed when he made a blanket statement as such. Nevertheless, he should not have said those things in the first place as it has not done his reputation any favours.

Barry Ferguson did not hold back with his criticism of Beale after it came out and now Moore has served a humble pie of his own.

John Lundstram thanked Michael Beale ahead of leaving Rangers

The former Sunderland manager has, meanwhile, taken a step back in his managerial career, reuniting with Steven Gerrard as his assistant at Al-Ettifaq.

He had been without a job since being sacked as the Black Cats boss in February, but will now look to emulate Rangers success with Gerrard in Dammam.

In other Rangers news, Brighton’s David Weir has been mooted for the director of football role at Ibrox.
