Simon Jordan silences Jim White as they clash over Rangers live on talkSPORT
Simon Jordan silenced Jim White over Steven Gerrard’s success at Rangers live on talkSPORT.
The current Al-Ettifaq manager spent three years at Ibrox, securing their only Scottish Premiership title since 2011 when they went unbeaten in 2020/21.
Despite that title win, White was quick to question the ex-Aston Villa boss for his time with the Gers, which Jordan took issue with live on talkSPORT on 20 November.
The former Crystal Palace owner said: “What’s Gerrard had? He was successful at Rangers.”
White was quick to question this, replying: “Was he?”
“He won a league.”
“One League.”
This didn’t wash with Jordan who snapped back saying: “How are Rangers doing these days?”
“Not good.”
“And how were they doing prior to him coming in?”
“Not good.”
Appearing to have silenced his co-host, the businessman said: “So then we’d say there’s some success there, won’t we.”
Simon Jordan and Jim White clash over Steven Gerrard Rangers spell
There is no doubt that the ex-England international was a positive appointment by the Light Blues despite some pent-up feelings about his abrupt exit.
Gerrard departed mid-season to join Aston Villa where he would ultimately go on to be a failure and be replaced by Unai Emery in the West Midlands.
Despite this, the 44-year-old was the one to bring a league title to Ibrox after years of playing second fiddle to Old Firm rivals Celtic.
The former midfielder is now managing in Saudi Arabia and has been mentioned as a potential successor for Philippe Clement if he is to leave.

With that being said, it appears that White doesn’t particularly rate Gerrard which may be a feeling shared by supporters at Ibrox.
Regardless of the negative feelings around the manager, there is no doubt that he was a success during his spell in Glasgow and may be deserving of more respect for his successes at the club.
