Philippe Clement told to make Neraysho Kasanwirjo call for Rangers clash v FCSCB
Four Lads have told Philippe Clement to start Neraysho Kasanwirjo behind Jefte for Rangers’ showdown with FCSB.
The Light Blues get their Europa League campaign back up and running at Ibrox on Thursday (24 October) as they look to get back to winning ways following their dismal defeat to Kilmarnock last time out.
Although Clement doesn’t have loads of options to pick from because of injury and suspension, Four Lads Had A Dream host Clifford has urged the Belgian to hand Kasanwirjo his second start in Gers colours.
Writing on X on Thursday (24 October) he said: “I’d get Jefte forward & play Kasa at LB simply to try get some speed up top.
“It’s far too pedestrian in there so something has to change Not a lot we can do granted.”
What has happened to Philippe Clement and Rangers at Ibrox?
As Clifford suggests, the Gers simply have to do something to bring some life to their attacking play at Ibrox and the only obvious solution available is pushing Jefte into a more advanced role on the left wing.
The Brazilian defender has had an excellent start to life in Glasgow and while there will be reluctance to move him out of a position he has thrived in so far this term, it feels like the best thing for the team at this stage.
Kasanwirjo has shown that he is more than capable of thriving on the Europan stage. His display against Malmo earlier this term was brilliant and it feels as though he would add a bit more stability to the Gers’ backline.
With pressure now mounting on Clement, he needs to show that he has what it takes to make the bold decisions that win Rangers matches.
Starting Kasanwirjo and Jefte would be one of those calls, the question is whether or not he is willing to do it.
It does feel like time is running out for the Belgian to show that he is the right man for the job, with the fanbase becoming more and more unsettled with each passing game.
