Rangers likely to miss out on seven-figure windfall as Ridvan Yilmaz news emerges
Rangers are now unlikely to receive a seven-figure windfall from the sale of Ridvan Yilmaz in the summer transfer window.
The Turkish defender has been linked with an exit this summer, per Football Scotland, but recently made a definitive admission over his Ibrox future.
He stated, in no uncertain terms, that he was happy to be at the club, which means a multi-million sale is off the cards for Gers this summer.
Ridvan Yilmaz iterates desire to remain at Rangers
Yilmaz said on 3 June: “I am very happy at Rangers right now and there is no thought about any future transfer for me.
“I am enjoying my break with my family here and I will return to Scotland in time for the pre-season training camp soon.”
Had he wanted to leave, the Scottish side would definitely look to recoup all of what they paid for him back in 2022 or even make a profit.
According to Sky Sports, Gers paid an initial £3.4million, rising to £5million with add-ons.
Ridvan Yilmaz’s valuation has risen since his move to Ibrox
While the 23-year-old has faced few injury issues since joining, he’s largely done well at Ibrox and his value will have increased.
Yilmaz’s value has increased due to his impressive performances and his growing importance to the squad.
Since joining the club, the 23-year-old has demonstrated his ability to contribute both defensively and offensively, showcasing his skills in one-on-one situations and his quality in the final third.
His versatility in playing different positions has also added to his value.
With Yilmaz staying at Ibrox, the club may need to make a big money sale elsewhere to free up more funds in the transfer window.
This could involve selling another player who is in high demand and can command a significant transfer fee.

Such a sale would not only provide the necessary funds for new signings but also help maintain the squad’s competitiveness and balance.
In other Rangers news, weeks of negotiations are now on the cards at Ibrox with Gers aiming to strike a multi-million transfer deal to sign an international attacker.
