Connor Goldson surely finished at Ibrox as Rangers transfer update emerges
Connor Goldson may have played his final game for Rangers as transfer news emerged from Ibrox on Monday (20 May).
The 31-year-old has not played a single minute since the 3-1 victory over Dundee in the Scottish Cup, having suffered a season-ending injury.
Goldson has certainly been a crucial player this season under Philippe Clement, making 30 Scottish Premiership starts before sustaining the knee injury that has kept him out for the final few matches.
Now, it seems that the centre-back has played his final game as a Rangers player as Clement already looks set to make a defensive addition before the summer transfer window has opened.
According to Daily Record [20 May], the Gers have agreed personal terms with Levski Sofia’s Jose Cordoba and are expected to thrash out a transfer fee with the Bulgarian club.
It is understood that the transfer could set the club back £2million this summer, a fee that could be quickly earned back if Goldson is to leave Ibrox and end his six-year-stay in Scotland.
Could Connor Goldson be finished at Rangers?
The centre-back, along with teammate James Tavernier, has been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia, joining former manager Steven Gerrard at Al-Ettifaq and a transfer seems imminent after the recent news.
Moves to the Middle East offer clubs a simple way to raise funds, something that Clement and Nils Koppen will need if they are to complete a club rebuild at Ibrox this summer.

Goldson has been an incredible servant for the Gers since arriving from Brighton in 2018, going on to make over 300 appearances in competitions.
However, the veteran has been criticised for some of his performances in recent weeks, and with the club linked with an exciting 22-year-old talent, there could be no way back for him at Ibrox now.
In other Rangers news, a star player may now never be seen at Ibrox after a ground-breaking update has emerged about him recently.
