Agent speaks out as Jose Cordoba closes in on brand new Rangers transfer
Levski Sofia player Andrian Kraev has called Jose Cordoba “the best defender in Bulgaria” as Rangers attempt to sign him this summer, John Inglis has told The Scottish Sun.
Inglis, Kraev’s agent, has revealed that his client is adamant that Cordoba will thrive if he is to move to Ibrox this summer, with the 22-year-old said to be “extremely keen” on the move.
According to the Daily Record [20 May], the centre-back has agreed personal terms with the Scottish club ahead of a £2million move during the summer transfer window.
“I’ve spoken with Andrian about Cordoba. And he’s said not only is he probably the best defender in Bulgaria, a top pro and player, he’s also a great guy,” he said.
“They are big compliments from Andrian – and he is confident Cordoba would do well for Rangers or any other club if he is to leave Levski.”

Philippe Clement and the Gers are preparing for a squad rebuild this summer, and Cordoba’s signing will be the beginning ahead of a busy transfer window.
At just 22 years of age, Cordoba has already made 88 appearances for Levski Sofia and is an established international defender with Panama, having made his national debut in 2022.
Considering Rangers’ current defensive situation, the Bulgarian seems like the perfect first addition. Connor Goldson, Leon Balogun and John Souttar are all sidelined with respective injuries.
In addition to this, Goldson has been linked with an Ibrox exit this summer, as has teammate Ben Davies, while full-backs James Tavernier and Borna Barisic could also leave their careers in Scotland.
If Cordoba is available for just £2million, it seems like a no-brainer transfer this summer, especially if several players are to depart Scotland and leave spaces open for the next generation of defenders.
