Philippe Clement sack update emerges at Rangers after Celtic win Scottish Premiership
Derek Ferguson has suggested that Philippe Clement’s job is not under pressure after Celtic pipped Rangers to the Scottish Premiership title again.
The Hoops made it 12 titles in the last 13 years when lifting the silverware on Saturday 18 May, despite Clement having put his side top only a matter of weeks ago.
Ferguson admitted that pressure is always high, but not on Clement’s job as he needs numerous transfer windows to make it his own squad at Ibrox.
“There’s always pressure when you’re affiliated with the Old Firm,” he said. “You’ve got to win games. I don’t agree [that his job is under pressure].
“Let’s not beat around the bunch, he came to the club when they were in an awful state under Michael Beale and at that time, the league had gone. We had already conceded the league but the job that he did, the turnaround in the players was remarkable.
“But they’ve obviously ran out of steam, the injury problems they’ve had all season have caught up with them and it was just at the same time Celtic were kicking into form and getting one or two important players back.
“For me, Philippe Clement is certainly not under pressure as a Rangers manager. As Rangers supporters, we’re not happy – of course we’re not. Celtic have 12 titles in 13 years. It’s tough. It’s a tough watch and it’s tough being a Rangers supporter.
“It’s not Philippe Clement’s side, he needs at least two or three transfer windows because he can stamp his own authority on that team. Listen, there is pressure because of the Old Firm but for me, in the future, he’s not under pressure.”

Philippe Clement to be sacked at Rangers?
Any suggestions of Clement’s job being under pressure need to be shut down immediately, with the Belgian having worked wonders.
Not lifting the Scottish Premiership was disappointing, but even being in the race after what Michael Beale did at Ibrox is sensational in itself.
In other Rangers news, a star player may now never be seen at Ibrox after a ground-breaking update has emerged about him recently.
