Rangers transfer stance on Jack Butland shared amid Premier League interest
Rangers are confident that they can keep Jack Butland at Ibrox this summer amid interest in the goalkeeper from Premier League clubs, according to TeamTalk.
Butland was recently crowned as Rangers’ player of the year to mark a brilliant debut season at Ibrox, but that has only seen interest in the 31-year-old heighten ahead of the transfer window.
Nottingham Forest were just one of the clubs who enquired about signing Butland last January, but given he’s not even completed the first of a four-year contract at Ibrox, the club are well-placed to retain his services.
TeamTalk’s report said that Butland, who could be a surprise inclusion in England’s Euro 2024 squad, has not pushed for a move away and that the Gers will be swift to turn down any enquiries for the shot-stopper, who they expect to start the 2024-25 season at Ibrox.
Will Rangers keep Jack Butland this summer?
Rangers understandably have no plans to cash in on Butland ahead of the new campaign, and the 31-year-old has proven an extremely safe pair of hands between the sticks this season.
Butland has kept a league-high 18 clean sheets this season and is all-but certain to win the Golden Glove award, being the backbone behind the Gers conceding just 25 goals in the Premiership.
That’s the best defence in the league, and with a number of players in the backline looking likely to leave this summer, Philippe Clement will see maintaining the services of Butland as crucial to mounting another title charge next season.

The Gers are by no means out of this year’s title race, though, and head to arch-rivals Celtic on 11 May for an Old Firm clash with just three points between themselves and the Hoops.
Butland was beaten inside the opening 60 seconds in his last match against Celtic and conceded another two in a wild 3-3 draw at Ibrox.
Rangers, and Butland, will be hoping for a far less free-scoring game this time around, and if the goalkeeper can claim clean sheet number 19 at Parkhead, the Gers will have every possible chance of turning the Premiership title race on its head.
In other Rangers news, Philippe Clement has been tipped to hand Ben Davies a rare start in the Gers’ Old Firm title showdown with Celtic.
