Jack Butland clashes with Rangers fan as he has to be dragged away at Ibrox
Jack Butland has been filmed clashing with a Rangers supporter outside Ibrox and had to be ushered away.
The goalkeeper exchanged angry words with a fan as he left the ground after the Gers’ 4-1 win over Kilmarnock on 5 May.
It is unclear what was said to provoke Butland’s reaction but the nature of his response suggests that the offending comment was to do with the Englishman supposedly failing to spend sufficient time with fans after games.
Butland can be heard saying on a video posted on the Scottish Sun: “I stop every single time. Every single time.
“I’ve stopped every week. Every week.”
Will Jack Butland stay at Rangers?
Butland’s future at Rangers has been a subject of speculation since reports emerged that he is keen to return to the Premier League this summer after just one season at Ibrox.
The goalkeeper was named the Men’s Player of the Season and has been a crucial component of the Gers’ strong campaign, starting every match but one across all competitions this season, racking up 4,860 minutes across 54 appearances [Transfermarkt].
Rangers have also conceded the fewest goals in the Scottish Premiership so far, with Butland beaten just 25 times in 35 league outings.

Philippe Clement will hope the altercation does not affect his goalkeeper’s performance or concentration levels ahead of a potentially title-deciding Old Firm derby at Parkhead on 11 May, with Celtic just three points clear in the league standings.
If Butland does leave, he will hope to go out on a high as Rangers look to add both the league title and the Scottish FA Cup to the Scottish League Cup they won earlier this season.
