Rangers defender Borna Barisic has been spotted in a heated exchange with a supporter outside Ibrox following the Gers' clash with Kilmarnock.

Philippe Clement's side came from behind to claim all three points in a 4-1 win on Sunday (5 May) with goals from Fabio Silva, Ben Davies, Tom Lawrence and John Souttar making up for James Tavernier's early own goal.

Barisic was named in the Light Blues' starting XI and performed reasonably before being replaced by Ridvan Yilmaz, but as the players left the ground something clearly irked the Croatian international as he posed for photos with supporters.

In a video posted to X by Gers fan Ronnie (6 May), the left-back makes his way along a line of fans before quickly turning round and confronting a fan face to face and even raising an arm before he is escorted away.

Will Borna Barisic leave Rangers amid Trabzonspor transfer speculation?

It has been clear for some time now that Barisic's future lies away from Ibrox. The defender was linked with a move away from Glasgow in both the summer and January transfer window, but no such switch materialised.

But with his contract expiring at the end of the campaign and no extension seemingly on offer, it looks as though the defender will complete a free transfer with Trabzonspor the most likely destination.

Rangers defender Borna Barisic has had a mixed season

While the Croatian international has always had his critics in Glasgow, with a number of pundits and fans quick to slam his work both in and out of possession, he has been a reasonably consistent performer for much of his tenure.

This incident outside Ibrox may well just be a sign that his time in Scotland has run its course. It's not clear what was said to the defender, but Barisic and the Rangers fans may just need to distance themselves from one another for the sake of both parties.
