BBC footage shows Rangers Women coach visibly fuming at what Celtic Women players did
Rangers Women’s coach Jo Potter looked far from happy on the sidelines as a pre-match huddle from Celtic delayed their Scottish Cup semi-final.
As the Gers players stood prepared to get the game underway at Hampden Park, Celtic’s were locked in conversation, drawing boos from the crowd and a look of disgust from Gers boss Potter.
Potter was shown shaking her head in frustration by the BBC cameras – as relayed by the Scottish Sun – before signalling to her players to stay focused and wait for Celtic to be ready.
BBC commentator Alasdair Lamont was nonplussed on the delay, saying: “It’ll be Rangers to get us underway… eventually.”
Rangers Women prevail in Scottish Cup despite Celtic delay
Rangers were easily able to shake off the supposed ‘mind games’ from Celtic before kick-off, and emerged victorious with a 2-0 victory that sends them into the Scottish Cup final.
Jane Ross’ kick-off for the Light Blues Women came a full 10 seconds after referee Gary Hanvidge signalled the start of the game thanks to Celtic’s huddle, but their lateness was repaid in the second half by the Gers.

With the game still finely poised at 0-0 well beyond the 80-minute mark, Rangers struck twice in the final 10 through Chelsea Cornet and Kirsty Howat, seeing off Celtic to book their place in the decider.
Potter’s side will therefore return to Hampden in May, where they’ll face either Spartans or Hearts, who play today (28 April) in the second semi-final.
Rangers and the Hampden crowd may have been frustrated by Celtic’s unnecessary pre-match delay, but that’ll be of little worry to them now they’re just 90 minutes away from another trophy.
In other Rangers news, the Light Blues are expected to take a financial hit on a transfer which suits all involved.
