Rangers fans in ‘revolt’ at Ibrox after what they’ve seen as Philippe Clement gets it wrong
Rangers fans aren’t happy with Philippe Clement and his tactics after poor performances in the past two SPFL games, according to Hugh Keevins.
A goalless draw to Dundee and defeat against Ross County has seen the Gers drop three points behind Celtic in the title race.
The frustration has arisen from fans as this poor form has come at the worst possible time as the Scottish Premiership nears the end of the season.
In an article for the Daily Record (21 April), Keevins has suggested that the fans are quickly growing impatient with the manager.
He said: “His reading of the game at Dens Park, for instance, must surely have been an attempt to publicly reassure, and placate, the fans who are now in revolt over what they’re watching.
“But Clement’s assertion of Rangers’ dominance didn’t equate with the post-match reaction of a travelling support patently aggrieved by what they had seen.”
Could Rangers sack Philippe Clement?
There is no doubt that frustration has grown in recent weeks with performances dropping off and the title race fading away.
Given that Brendan Rogers’ side are now three points above the Gers, should they continue on this form, the title will be Celtic’s.
Although the last few weeks have angered some fans, it had been a positive stint in charge for Clement since coming in.
He was named as manager in October 2023 and he remained unbeaten until December before going on a run of 10 wins in a row.

This propelled the Light Blues up into a chance of winning the title having looked off the boil under Michael Beale.
It is just three games. They are important games and it is frustrating to imagine what could have been. Win against Ross County and Dundee and it is a completely different picture.
The last few weeks haven’t been good enough but rushing to sack the manager wouldn’t be the answer.
