Rangers: Doctor issues timeframe on Ridvan Yilmaz injury return
Rangers defender Ridvan Yilmaz could be out for a few more weeks if he does not respond to higher training intensity, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.
The injury expert has reacted to Philippe Clement’s update where the Belgian claims the left-back is not out for the long term but is still in individual training.
The 22-year-old picked up an injury on international duty which at the time made him a major doubt for the Old Firm clash and then he was given a chance until the last minute to prove his fitness but he is still not back.
Discussing his situation exclusively with Ibrox News, Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, said:
“It does suggest that he’s close to returning and there’s further context that the manager tends to be more risk averse so that may play a part in him not playing yet.
“He’s not yet in full training which is what has delayed his return.
“There are plenty of factors that can delay comebacks which include not responding to rehab or increased training intensity.
“He may be out for a few more weeks if there are no signs of improvement.“
Rangers sweat on Ridvan Yilmaz fitness and return from injury
Gers will be hoping that the Turkey international returns from injury as soon as possible with the title slipping out of their grasp.
Borna Barisic started the season as the first-choice left-back, but now seems to be on his way out of the club and Yilmaz has deservedly earned his way into the playing eleven.

The 22-year-old has excelled under Clement and the Belgian will be hoping that he helps guide his team to their 56th league title.
