Rangers: Chris Jack shares Tannadice update ahead of Dundee clash
Rangers face a nervous wait to see if their Scottish Premiership clash against Dundee will go ahead, with Chris Jack discussing the possibility of a move to nearby Tannadice on Rangers Review.
Rangers can go two points clear at the top of the Premiership, but an amber weather warning has cast doubt on whether Dens Park will be fit to host the match on 10 April, with a final pitch inspection set for 11am.
Jack questioned whether Dundee could play at Tannadice Park, home of their rivals Dundee United should the match be rearranged, acknowledging “the venue is harder to sort than the date.”
He doubted the feasibility of that though, saying: “People say just go and play at Tannadice, but that’s the ultimate slap in the face for Dundee, saying ‘it’s been really wet and the weather’s bad’ when 100 yards down the road it’s perfectly playable.”
“I don’t think Dundee would want to have to make that phone call and say ‘by the way can we use your stadium because ours isn’t fit for purpose’.”
Rangers saga continues at Dundee and Dens Park
With just one round of games left before the Premiership splits after matchday 33, Rangers are desperate to have this fixture played and won before the campaign enters its most pivotal stage.
Sat one point behind Celtic in the table following their Old Firm draw on 7 April, Philippe Clement’s side can scarcely afford another postponement, with season-defining fixtures in both league and cup on the horizon.

The pitch inspection at Dens Park, after another night of heavy rainfall in the Dundee area, could see this game rearranged for a second time, with the initial fixture postponed just hours before kick-off on the other side of the international break.
Just as Rangers are seeking to overtake Celtic in the table with their game in hand, Dundee are looking to consolidate their place in the league’s top half before the split.
Hosting this fixture before that split is a must, but a relocation just 183 metres away to Tannadice Park, the home of their biggest rivals who were relegated from the Premiership last season, may well be a step too far for the Dundee faithful.
