Philippe Clement has commented on suggestions that the Dundee versus Rangers match could be held at a neutral venue if called off again.

The match at Dens Park on Wednesday (10 April) remains shrouded in uncertainty due to concerns over the playing surface.

Rangers already saw their initially scheduled fixture at Dundee postponed last month around an hour and a half before kick-off.

Asked on Sky Sports News [9 April, 3:45pm] about possibly playing the game at a neutral venue next week, Clement said: "The decision has to be made by the federation.

"They are the ones making the schedule. But if it's next week, for sure it cannot be in Dundee because nobody knows what the weather will be next week.

"As a manager, I'd like a solution today so that at least we can make plans. If the game is postponed tomorrow, we've lost one day that we cannot train with the players."

Will Dundee v Rangers at Dens Park go ahead?

Clement was rightly furious on the back of the original match being called off last month at such late notice.

At least this time around the Gers make the trip to Dens Park knowing there is some doubt over whether the game will go ahead.

That is still far from ideal, of course, and it will cause an almighty - and unnecessary - headache if postponed due to the league split.

As has been highlighted plenty of times over the past few weeks, it is pretty farcical that Dundee have had multiple games called off because of the weather.

If there is a doubt come Tuesday evening (9 April) about the game going ahead when looking at the latest weather reports, it is surely time for league chiefs to step in and find an alternative venue?

As Clement says, it is not fair on Rangers that they are being messed around. Let's just hope the bad weather holds off and the pitch can withstand 90 minutes of football.
