Rangers v Dundee: Urgent SFA push as Tony Docherty shares new update
The Scottish FA have an urgency for Rangers’ game against Dundee in the Scottish Premiership to go ahead on Wednesday 10 April, according to Glasgow World.
With the Scottish Premiership split scheduled after the upcoming weekend games, the SPFL also want the game concluded before that.
Rangers have the chance to go top of the Scottish Premiership with a win in this fixture which, having already been postponed once from its original slot before the international break, could be pushed back even further after an amber weather warning was released.
Speaking to Glasgow World, Dundee boss Tony Docherty was confident the game would go ahead having been reassured by club bosses despite the threat of further rainfall in Dundee, saying: “I’ve just had an assurance the game will be on. That’s all I need to know.”

With the yellow weather warning for the Dundee region being upgraded to amber overnight, the chances of Dens Park being able to host Rangers may be looking less and less likely, regardless of Docherty’s optimism.
Having already seen this clash pushed back to Wednesday 8 April and the top flight due to split after this weekend’s round of fixtures, all 33 games need to be finished before that.

Rangers therefore need to have this game wrapped up – ideally with three points in the bag – as soon as possible, if they’re to go into the last five matches of the split season above Celtic in the table.
Their recovery from 2-0 down to equalise twice late on for a 3-3 draw at Ibrox kept Philippe Clement’s men in touching distance of Celtic just a point above them, but the Gers are fast running out of time and chances to make their game in hand count.
