Rangers are fearing another postponement against Dundee amid a yellow weather warning that has been issued prior to Wednesday's (10 April) rearranged fixture.

The original fixture was called off on 21 March due to a waterlogged pitch at Dens Park, which led to plenty of criticism.

Philippe Clement's men are hoping to build on their thrilling 3-3 draw against Celtic in the Old Firm derby on Sunday (7 April).

But Rangers Review reported (8 April) that there may be another fear that the game doesn't get played again amid worries over the state of the Dens Park pitch, writing: "Experts say there is a 90% chance of rain on Wednesday too, following a full day of heavy precipitation the day prior.

"With the Dens Park surface in a poor condition currently, this will increase worries about the possibility of a further postponement."

Rangers face further Dundee concern

Having recorded a dominant 3-1 victory in their home match against Dundee back on December 9, a match that saw all four goals scored inside the opening 34 minutes, Rangers will be confident they can secure the three points needed at Dens Park to go top of the Premiership, particularly after coming from 2-0 and 3-2 down respectively to draw with Celtic in a barnstorming derby.

However, with the yellow weather warning in place for the majority of Scotland's central belt (including Dundee), it remains to be seen whether the match wil be played on its scheduled date of 10 April.

Rangers
Rangers' Jose Cifuentes was sent off at the end of a crazy first half against Dundee back in December.

Last time, this fixture - which was meant to take place prior to international break in March - was called off just 90 minutes before kick-off so hopefully common sense can prevail and an early decision will be made if it is needed to avoid fans disappointed when travelling.

If the weather prevails and forces another postponement of this game, the remainder of the league will have played all 33 scheduled matches before the Scottish top-flight splits into two, meaning it could be a case of third-time lucky for the Gers to overtake Celtic right at the very last.
