Rangers v Celtic: Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou delivers Old Firm verdict

Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou has delivered his verdict on the Rangers v Celtic Old Firm derby on Sunday, 7 April.

As Hoops boss, the Australian has experienced the rivalry first-hand and has promised that he will be watching the contest.

Gers go into this game behind their arch rivals but have a game in hand and the winner of the match will take top spot.

Postecoglou said, via Glasgow World: “It’s early on Sunday and I will definitely be watching. It’s one of the biggest rivalries in world football. I am very much on the grain on one side and I know what it means to supporters to win that game. As much as we talk about derbies and they mean more, this one does.

“I lived and breathed it for a couple of years and it is a really important game, for both clubs. Looking at how tight the table is, it takes on an extra significance as you know most of the time that is what is going to separate the two sides maybe at the end of the year. It will be a cracking game and I will be tuning in.”

Rangers can spoil Postecoglou and Celtic’s day

Rangers would relish the opportunity to spoil the day for Postecoglou and their rivals Celtic in the upcoming derby clash.

With the title race hanging in the balance, Gers understand the significance of this fixture and the potential impact a victory could have.

Being favourites going into the match, Philippe Clement’s side holds the advantage in recent form and momentum.

Having the Belgian’s astute management and tactical prowess, the Bears are poised to exploit any weaknesses in Celtic’s game.

Additionally, the motivation to extend their lead at the top of the table and dampen Celtic’s hopes of reclaiming the title adds fuel to their determination to secure three points.

Moreover, the psychological aspect cannot be overlooked as the winner of this game will have momentum for the rest of the season and will be favourites to lift the title in May.
