Rangers: Ianis Hagi exit update emerges as reports suggest Galatasaray agree transfer

Galatasaray have not agreed a deal to sign Ianis Hagi from Rangers at this moment in time, according to Emanuel Rosu.

The Romanian journalist, who has worked for the likes of the BBC and the Guardian, tweeted on Sunday (31 March) that a report by Turkish news outlet Fotomac was “fake news” after it suggested the 25-year-old had signed for the Super Lig club.

He added that no talks have so far taken place between the Turkish outfit and the Romanian international despite them being “in love” with the winger because his dad, Gheorghe Hagi, played for the Istanbul-based side.

Could Ianis Hagi leave Rangers permanently?

It certainly wouldn’t come as a big surprise if Hagi were to leave Rangers permanently in the near future, but it appears as though some of the recent reports have jumped the gun.

The winger is currently on loan with La Liga club Alaves, where he has struggled to nail down a spot in the starting lineup.

There is a chance that he could be handed another opportunity to impress with the Gers after he left last summer before Philippe Clement arrived at Ibrox.

That could largely depend on whether the Light Blues boss feels he could add something to his squad and on whether any offers come in for him.

It doesn’t seem like a move to Galatasaray would be out of the question given his links to the club, so it will be interesting to see if there are any developments on that situation.
