Rangers v Hibs injury news: Doctor shares Todd Cantwell update
Todd Cantwell is likely to be available for the Rangers v Hibs clash after his muscle injury, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.
However, the injury expert argues that despite his 14-minute cameo v Benfica on 14 March, he might not be ready for the full 90 minutes.
He has also highlighted Philippe Clement’s comments about the constant tackling which ruled him out for a month. [Football Scotland]
Discussing his situation exclusively with Ibrox News, Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, said:
“His training will be with the first team and involve increasing intensity with a careful eye on how he responds to sessions.
“There are good chances of him being near 100 per cent right on the other side of the international break but he may not be ready for the 90 minutes.
“There have also been comments made by Philippe Clement on the constant tackling of Cantwell.
“The comments are sensible as he’s trying to protect his player from poor tackles but also, to his credit, acknowledging that his player may have a role to play in those as well with how he provokes defenders.“
Todd Cantwell may play the majority of the Rangers v Hibs clash
If Cantwell is not at a 100 per cent in terms of match fitness, there is still a chance he is put in the starting eleven and then taken off at 60 minutes.
The best way to regain sharpness is to play games and Clement will be informed by the medical staff as to what his fitness levels are.
