Turkish giants Trabzonspor have tabled a bid for Rangers left-back Borna Barisic in the summer, according to Football Scotland.

The news outlet reported on 21 March that the Croatia international's representatives are to decide whether or not it is the right move this summer but no decision has been made.

The 31-year-old's contract expires at the end of the season so he will be a free agent and the bid is likely to have been an offer to the defender as he's open to talk to clubs outside Scotland.

Will Barisic be leaving Rangers in the summer?

There were reports that claimed Barisic had already agreed terms over leaving Rangers at the end of the campaign.

Barisic's contract is expiring, providing him with the opportunity to explore new challenges and potentially secure a lucrative deal elsewhere.

With the emergence of Ridvan Yilmaz and potential signings like Jefte, Barisic's playing time at Ibrox might be reduced, leading him to seek regular first-team football elsewhere.

Additionally, the offer from Trabzonspor could involve financial benefits, which could be enticing for Barisic as he looks to secure his future.

At 31 years old, Barisic might see this as an opportune moment to explore new experiences and environments in his football career.

He is not the player he was during his heyday so it makes sense to move to a league that is not as fast-paced.
