Rangers: Chris Sutton takes snide dig amid Celtic Park and Ibrox admission
Chris Sutton brought up Rangers and Celtic forcefully into a discussion that did not involve the two Old Firm clubs.
Discussing the Switzerland and Germany games, Sutton saw it as an opportune opportunity to point out that he scored in the opening minute at Celtic Park as well as Ibrox.
The game he referred to was back in 2000 with the Hoops winning 6-2.
Speaking on BBC 5 Live’s Monday Night Club, he said, as quoted by the Daily Record: “Yeah, I don’t like talking about myself. But I scored inside a minute at Ibrox and Celtic Park.”
Sutton cannot get Rangers out of his head
Sutton’s penchant for bringing up Rangers-related topics, even when discussing unrelated matters, suggests an obsession that borders on unhealthy.
Despite claiming reluctance, Sutton never misses an opportunity to reminisce about his glory days against Gers, as if they occupy prime real estate in his mind.
His eagerness to recount his goal against them in 2000 highlights a deep-seated fixation that transcends mere football banter.
It’s evident that Sutton’s constant jabs at the club stem from a place of bitterness and resentment, perhaps fueled by past defeats or personal grievances.
His persistent need to insert Gers into conversations unrelated to them only serves to showcase his own insecurities and inability to move on.

Instead of focusing on his own achievements or analysing current football affairs objectively, Sutton’s fixation on the Ibrox outfit comes across as petty and desperate for attention.
In other Rangers news, European league giants have started their summer transfer activity and have launched a bid for a first-team Gers player with an update shared on his decision.
