Philippe Clement reacts to what Rangers Women did on Sunday at Tynecastle
Philippe Clement has reacted on social media to Rangers Women beating Partick Thistle in the Sky Sports Cup final on Sunday (24 March).
Writing on his personal Twitter page on Sunday, the Gers men’s team manager said “big congratulations” to Jo Potter and her team following their 4-1 victory.
Goals from Mia McAuley, Rachel Rowe, Rio Hardy and Olivia McLoughlin ensured the Light Blues retained the trophy at Tynecastle.
Rangers Women deserve plaudits for SWPL Cup success
It’s nice to see Clement take time out to congratulate Potter and her players following their cup final victory over Partick.
It was an excellent performance from the team as they took the game away from Thistle with three goals in the first half.
There has been a bit of controversy after the game, with Hearts issuing a statement in response to a Gers badge being placed over the Jambos badge inside the changing room.
That has, unfortunately, took some of the attention away from the victory after the Edinburgh club have asked for answers on why their badge was covered up at Tynecastle.
But the focus should be on how well the Light Blues played and they will be looking to build on the result to help them claim more silverware this season.
In other Rangers news, Neil Lennon has labelled a situation as “unacceptable” after what happened to the Gers.
