Rangers: Philippe Clement must recall Fabio Silva v Benfica after 100% Motherwell display
Rangers have a huge task ahead of them, with Philippe Clement taking his side to Portugal to take on Benfica.
Estadio da Luz hosts the Europa League round of 16 first leg clash on Thursday (7 March), with Clement facing several big decisions in the dugout.
But one easy decision for the Belgian should involve which striker to start, given both what happened against Motherwell and indeed the need to rotate his starting XI.
Cyriel Dessers got the nod up top in the shock 2-1 loss at Ibrox on Saturday (2 March), with Fabio Silva starting from the bench.
The latter was, however, introduced perhaps quicker than he expected, coming on for Ross McCausland in the 35th minute.
And the January recruit definitely made more of an impact in the final third than Dessers, namely by winning the penalty on the hour mark, which James Tavernier converted.
But Silva also impressed in other areas, with the Wolves loanee completing his only dribble attempt (100%) and having two shots on target, behind only teammate Ridvan Yilmaz (three), as per Sofascore.
The striker did, however, miss one big chance, while he also won just two of his four duels. But he did the important things right, leaving Clement with little choice but to hand him a start for the huge meeting with Benfica.
Will Philippe Clement opt for Fabio Silva or Cyriel Dessers when Rangers face Benfica?
Incidentally, Dessers played 77 minutes against Motherwell, with the summer arrival perhaps needing a rest amid this busy schedule in all competitions.

Clement also has Kemar Roofe to call upon following his return from injury, but a start for him in such an important game would be a massive risk from the man in the dugout.
