Rangers: Ally McCoist shares ‘tremendous’ Philippe Clement admission after Hearts win
Rangers and Philippe Clement picked up a “tremendous” result in their Scottish Premiership win over Hearts at Ibrox, according to Ally McCoist.
The Light Blues maintained their two-point gap over Celtic at the top of the Premiership table with a 5-0 win over Steven Naismith’s side on Saturday (24 February) thanks in part to an excellent Cyriel Dessers’ brace.
While there is still plenty of football to be played between now and the end of the season, McCoist has labelled it a “fantastic” result for the Gers and admitted that he has loved the transformation under Clement.
Speaking on talkSPORT on Monday (26 February, 7:55) he said: “Rangers, it has to be said got a fantastic result at the weekend. He’s doing well, I’m loving him [Clement].
“That was a big, big performance at the weekend, it really was a tremendous result, tremendous.”
Can Rangers beat Celtic to the Premiership title this season?
It feels a long time ago now, but Rangers’ defeat at the hands of Hearts earlier this season was the game which saw the most optimistic of supporters admit that Celtic already had one hand on the Premiership title this season.
However, only a few months and a manager change later the Light Blues are back on top in Glasgow and are now proving to be most pundits and supporters’ favourites to go on and lift the trophy at the end of the season.

There is still plenty of football to be played, not only in the league but in Europe and in domestic cups, but the Gers have shown with their tremendous win over Hearts that when they are at their best, they can beat any side that they face.
This title race will go down to the wire and Rangers need to up their game in the remaining Old Firm clashes, but Clement’s side are in the driving seat and they can’t let such an excellent opportunity slip by this term.
