Philippe Clement axes Borna Barisic in four changes – Rangers confirmed XI v Hearts

Philippe Clement has made four changes to the Rangers starting lineup as his side prepares to take on Hearts on Saturday (24 February).

The Gers confirmed on their official Twitter account that Jack Butland will start in goal, with James Tavernier, Connor Goldson, John Souttar and Ridvan Yilmaz making up the defence.

John Lundstram, Mohamed Diomande and Dujon Sterling start in midfield, while Tom Lawrence, Oscar Cortes and Cyriel Dessers will occupy the attacking positions.

That means Todd Cantwell misses out after it has been confirmed a hamstring injury he picked up in the 3-0 victory over St Johnston will keep him out for the next few weeks.

Borna Barisic, Scott Wright and Fabio Silva have also dropped out of the side.

Rangers need big performance against Hearts

This will be one of the biggest tests Rangers have faced since Clement took over at Ibrox as Hearts come into the game in great form.

While the Gers are also currently flying, they will have to be at their best to claim a result against the Jambos to cement their place at the top of the SPL.

They leapfrogged Celtic following the victory over St Johnstone after putting an incredible run together since the Belgian boss arrived in Glasgow.

While the goals have been flowing over the past few weeks, the Light Blues have also built up a strong defensive record with Jack Butland in between the sticks.

This is a game Clement will be looking forward to as it will provide him with a good idea on where his side are at in their bid to claim the SPL title this season.
