Rangers admission made by Chris Sutton as Sunderland sack Michael Beale

Chris Sutton believes that Michael Beale may be the worst manager to take over the reins at both Rangers and Sunderland.

On 19 February, the EFL Championship side decided to axe the English head coach who was in charge of the team for just 12 games.

Prior to taking over the role at the Stadium of Light, he was unceremoniously sacked at Ibrox, making it his second dismissal of the season and it’s only February.

Via Twitter, Sutton wrote: “Sorry to see Mick Beale go… he may go down as Sunderland’s and Rangers worst ever manager and all in the same season…”

Is Beale really the worst ever Rangers and Sunderland manager?

Beale arrived at Ibrox with plenty of aplomb as he was largely popular and wrongly viewed by many as the reason for Steven Gerrard’s success at the club.

However, as this clip shows, he wasn’t really as popular when he was the head coach and it’s no surprise that fans of both clubs turned on him pretty quickly.

While both clubs have had terrible managers in the past, Sutton’s statement is justified considering Beale’s failure to make a positive impact during his time at both Sunderland and Rangers, ultimately leading to his dismissal from both clubs.

What he now needs to do is take a break and reflect on his managerial skills and see where things have gone wrong for him.

A lot of managers tend to shadow experienced head coaches and pick up a few tricks and tips from them.

Eddie Howe, who’s now in charge of Newcastle, did that with Atletico Madrid’s Diego Simeone and it’s helped him significantly.

In other Rangers news, a recent £10m claim has emerged directly having long-term consequences Gers and the supporters will certainly be fuming with it.
