Nils Koppen reacts to Mohamed Diomande footage from Sky Sports after Rangers win

Nils Koppen has reacted to the goal Mohamed Diomande scored as Rangers won 3-0 against St Johnstone, simply responding with a rocket emoji, shared via his X account.

Rangers shared Sky Sports footage of the goal, a strike from around 20 yards which flew into the back of the net before the goalkeeper had even dived to reach it, putting his team 1-0 up on the day.

The director of football played a key role in bringing the midfielder to Ibrox, and will rightly be proud of the contribution Diomande has made after such a short time in blue.

Nils Koppen has already played a key role for Rangers

Given the outlay spent at Ibrox to bring Diomande to the club, they will be pleased that he has already begun to settle in. The opening goal in this game put Rangers on the path to a key victory which has now seen them leapfrog Celtic at the top of the SPFL.

There was plenty of excitement when the midfielder arrived, and that is now being justified, with fans now hopeful he can continue to produce magic moments like that to aid in their title fight.

Koppen’s arrival has also been bookmarked as a key moment at Ibrox, marking the beginning of a new direction with exciting players targeted with a view to making a profit further along the line when they eventually depart Ibrox.

Diomande is the first example of that new model and looks a long way from the stale signings made by Michael Beale in the summer transfer window, playing straight into Philippe Clement’s favour.
