John Hartson shares ‘confident’ Rangers quadruple admission in new Celtic title verdict
Rangers are capable of beating Celtic to the Scottish Premiership title this season and could even lift a famous quadruple under Philippe Clement, according to John Hartson.
The Light Blues currently sit three points adrift of Brendan Rodgers’ Hoops with a game in hand and remain in the fight for both the Europa League and the Scottish Cup, having already won the Viaplay Cup this season.
Clement has admitted that he wants to win every trophy he can this season and Hartson believes that the Gers could succeed on all fronts, but has been unwilling to write off Celtic yet.
Speaking on The Go Radio Football Show (7 February, 30:30) he said: “They can win everything, they’re still in Europe, they’re going well in Europe. They’ve still got the league, they’ve just clawed a points deficit back.
“They play Ayr United on the weekend in the Scottish Cup so there is an opportunity for them to win everything.
“Whether they do it, let’s not forget Celtic have won the league in the last two seasons. But why not? He’s obviously very confident to put that out there in the public but I think his players wouldn’t mind him saying that.”
Rangers to pip Celtic and lift treble under Philippe Clement
Only a matter of months ago, Rangers supporters were hoping to see their team lift one title this season and now they are already discussing the possibility of lifting a historic quadruple under Clement’s management.
The Belgian has transformed the whole mood around Ibrox currently and has brought belief back to the Light Blues that had vanished under the management of Michael Beale and that is reflected in the mood of Celtic supporters.

Rangers are now in a position where they could win everything, as Hartson suggested, but that doesn’t mean that they will. The Gers are on a good run of form at the moment and they would be naive to get too far ahead of themselves at this stage of the season.
Hopefully, they can remain competitive and continue in Europe where they left off in 2023, but there is plenty of football to be played. This tile race will likely go right down to the wire and will blow back and forth for a while yet.
