Aris Limassol suffer key injury blow, could be ruled out of Rangers clash
Aris Limassol striker Yannick Gomis is now a major doubt to face Rangers in the Europa League clash on 30 November after suffering a muscle injury, according to the Glasgow Times.
The newspaper shared via their website on 14 November that the forward will undergo medical testing and scans before the official timeframe of his injury is given, but the knock is a hammer blow to their chances.
Rangers were defeated 2-1 in the reverse fixture under the interim management of Steven Davis, but have clawed back their position under Philippe Clement and have put themselves in an excellent position to progress.

A big blow to the outsiders
Going into the game, Rangers had to be considered favourites. With the clash being at Ibrox, and the form the Glasgow side find themselves in, they should have more than enough to overturn the shock result of the reverse fixture.
For Aris, losing their main striker will not do them any favours. Gomis has scored four goals and provided two assists in nine league games this campaign, but is yet to find the back of the net in the Europa League where Aris have picked up just three points.
The Cypriot side are not one to be discounted, as Rangers discovered in the away fixture when they suffered a defeat, but they will view this as a winnable game particularly now their opponents lack the first-choice striker.

This has come following Daily Record journalist Keith Jackson’s prediction [11 November] that, if Rangers can grab all three points against Aris, they will put themselves in a great position to progress from the group, and if the draw goes their way another quarter-final appearance could be on the cards.
