Rangers board meeting set for Wednesday as final choice on new manager to be made between Philippe Clement and Kevin Muscat
Rangers are set to make a final decision on their new manager on Wednesday with a board meeting set, according to Alan Nixon.
Writing on his official Patreon (10 October), The Sun journalist reports that the race is now down to two with Kevin Muscat and Philippe Clement both having spoken to John Bennett.
A board meeting will now take place today (11 October) to make a final decision, with both managers available to join immediately despite Muscat being in a job with Yokohama F Marinos currently.

“Rangers supremo John Bennett has spoken with Kevin Muscat and Phillipe Clement as the Glasgow giants close in on a new manager,” he wrote.
“Bennett joined in the final phase of the operation when he interviewed Australian Muscat and Belgian Clement ahead of a board meeting to decide the choice on Wednesday.”
Home stretch
It’s now the home stretch of this managerial hunt for Rangers, with the process taking place and running it’s course and the final two candidates now being the ones most expected.
Clement is a free agent with great experience at the highest level, and with the majority of people knowing him for his attacking style of play, while Muscat was a target before Beale was even officially sacked.

Many expected Muscat to get the nod because of the way he has followed Ange Postecoglou’s pathway and the success the current Tottenham manager has had, which made him very popular.
But now Clement seems to be the man who is leading the way with offers on the table after impressing in interviews. But regardless, whoever steps in will need to win the fans over.
We’re getting towards the end of the process and the club know they absolutely have to get this decision right, so we’ll see how it goes as we expect things to come to a head in the coming hours now.
