Rangers could lose John Lundstram, Ryan Jack, Kemar Roofe and Borna Barisic next summer

Rangers could lose four senior first-team players from the squad next summer with John Lundstram, Borna Barisic, Ryan Jack and Kemar Roofe out of contract.

Michael Beale made huge changes to the playing staff during his first summer transfer window at the club, with nine arrivals and several high-profile exits in the process.

But the changes may not stop there, with Football Scotland (27 September) reporting that the four players “could be about to leave for free” with each of them able to talk to foreign clubs about a switch from January.

Rangers

“Morelos and Kent had previously been subjects of big money bids but Rangers kept hold of them and eventually lost both on bosmans after poor final seasons,” they wrote.

“And now four more senior players could be about to leave for free too as they near the end of their contracts.

John Lundstram, Borna Barisic, Ryan Jack and Kemar Roofe are all entering the final six months of their deals soon and will be able to speak to clubs about potential summer switches.”

Blow

Beale made it a big deal to keep hold of Ryan Jack in the summer, while Lundstram and Roofe have become key members of his side in recent times.

Barisic still hasn’t lost his place as the first-choice left-back either despite the arrivals of Dujon Sterling and Ridvan Yilmaz in recent times, which means that losing all four would be a huge blow.

Rangers

It’s possible that the club are prepared for them to move on and have replacements lined up, which wouldn’t necessarily be a bad thing at all considering the evolution of the team.

But we absolutely need experience in the squad and people needing to know what the standards of Rangers are and what the fans need, so we can’t lose everyone too quickly without replacing them adequately.

It now seems that another big summer is being planned at Ibrox for next year, but whether Beale will be the man in charge still remains to be seen.
