Rangers to add to Europa League jackpot already after ticket announcement – Finance Expert

We’re delighted to welcome football finance expert Dr Daniel Plumley as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Rangers...

Dan Plumley has insisted that Rangers will easily add to their Europa League windfall after announcing their three-match ticket packages at Ibrox.

The Bears get their Europa League journey underway on Thursday 21 September with a home game against Real Betis, with the expected sell-outs set to add to the participation and game bonus fees on offer.

The finance expert admitted the pricing was reasonably set by the Rangers board, and the nature of the home fans will mean they will always likely sell them out regardless.

“They would always likely sell out those packages because of the nature of the fans,” he exclusively told Ibrox News.

“The pricing structure there is quite reasonable in that regard, when you look at the average ticket price of that package, especially when you look at the English Championship as a comparison, really high price but here you can watch three games of Europa League football at Rangers for cheaper.

The package itself seems reasonable in terms of what they’re asking for.

They could have sold that twice over, so it’s a good initiative, well thought out and as you say, hopefully, that generates a sell-out in those group fixtures and can add some cash to the participation money you get along the way.”

In other Rangers news, Plumley has insisted that the club can argue they have missed out after a £900m+ deal was signed off elsewhere
