Rangers transfer update emerges in pursuit of Leicester City defender Harry Souttar

Rangers look to secure the services of Harry Souttar, brother of defender John, who’s plying his trade at Leicester City, according to the Athletic.

The media outlet reported on Wednesday (30 August) that a move for the Australia international is mooted to go down to the wire.

It’s reported by Football Scotland that the 24-year-old Australia international is keen on moving to Ibrox this summer.

Get this done

If they are serious about signing Harry this summer then they’ve got to do everything they can to seal the deal quickly.

He is arguably a Premier League level defender and there could be clubs in England that may consider a late swoop for him.

The fact that his brother is at Ibrox does make things easier but nothing will happen unless and until a bid is made for the Australian.

There is dire need to bring in a new defender this summer and Ben Davies may very well be shown the door before the transfer deadline.

He has not lived up to his billing since joining from Liverpool and if they can get decent money for him then it makes sense to cash in.

Hopefully, in the coming hours, an official bid goes in for Souttar and things can then progress over a transfer.
