Leicester City boss Enzo Maresca makes Harry Souttar admission amid Rangers transfer links

Leicester City boss makes Enzo Maresca has broken his silence after leaving Harry Souttar out of the squad v Burton amid links to Rangers.

talkSPORT’s Geoff Peters claimed that Gers were exploring a move to sign the Australia international on loan this summer.

Souttar, 24, is the younger brother of Harry, who’s currently plying his trade at Rangers, but has chosen to represent Scotland instead.

Via Twitter, Peters wrote, “Enzo Maresca on leaving Harry Souttar out of the #lcfc squad at Burton amid interest from other clubs.
‘It was a technical decision. No more than that’.”

Convenient

Usually, when players are on their way out or in talks with another club over a transfer, managers tend to leave them out.

That’s a sensible move as their heads are not fully there and if they want to leave, they’re not going to be willing to put their bodies on the line as they may not be there in the coming days.

Souttar is a quality defender who will be a good signing for Rangers.

Having his brother at the club is an added incentive for him to make the move and it will be interesting to see who’s ahead of whom in the pecking order.

John’s not had the best of times since moving to Ibrox but that’s solely been down to the fact that he had a long-term injury.

Hopefully, he improves this season and the added competition with his brother will certainly make things more interesting.

In other Rangers news, a senior player has surely played his last game at Ibrox after a development last week.
