Rangers target Jake Cooper makes transfer decision over Millwall stay amid multiple offers
Millwall defender Jake Cooper has penned an open letter to the fans about his future decision amid transfer links to Rangers.
The Fourth Official reported on Friday (25 August) that the English centre-back had multiple clubs that made offers to secure his services.
However, the 28-year-old wrote an open letter to the fans of the English club as he’s now penned a new long-term deal at the Den.
Via Twitter, T4O wrote, “Jake Cooper has turned down offers from all clubs. That includes an interest from Rangers as well.”
Blessing in disguise?
If Cooper does not want to challenge himself at a higher level, he perhaps does not have the right mentality of player needed at Ibrox.
Michael Beale surely will be looking for players willing to fight and give it their all for the club to ensure they get their hands on the title again.
There are even doubts as to whether or not he’s an upgrade on Connor Goldson and John Souttar so it’s a blessing in disguise that he’s not signed.

That said, they still do need to bring in a new defender this summer, perhaps one who can play as a centre-back as well as a makeshift full-back.
There were links to Nottingham Forest’s Jonathan Panzo and that kind of profile makes a lot of sense for the Ibrox giants.
It remains to be seen who they end up bringing in through the door before the window closes.
In other Rangers news, a manager at an English club has broken his silence as Gers now explore move to sign international defender.
