Rangers transfer news as Ibrox chief speaks out on Ronnie Edwards after visit
Rangers chief Mervyn Day has strongly recommended Peterborough defender Ronnie Edwards to Michael Beale, according to The Scottish Sun.
The newspaper reported on its website on Wednesday 16 August that the Bears may make a bid for the young England international in the next two weeks.
Day was present to watch the English League One side beat Barnsley on Tuesday 15 August, with West Ham and Bournemouth also said to be interested.

Day has made the recommendation to Beale, who is looking to strengthen his options across the back line at Ibrox in the final couple of weeks in this window.
Crystal Palace are also said to have had multiple bids rejected already with the race really starting to hot up both north and south of the border.

Gem.
This would make a lot of sense, but it would be a very difficult deal to pull off.
Looking at the fact that Crystal Palace, with Premier League money behind them, have had numerous bids rejected, it would be easy to assume that it will be an expensive deal.
Rangers have already spent above £10million easily, and with very few outgoings, it would be hard to justify that sort of cash being spent again at Ibrox.
Should Edwards still be available towards the end of the window and Champions League football is secured against PSV Eindhoven, then we could possibly revisit that.
Beale will be familiar with English talent coming through the ranks, so it would be an interesting deal with Leon King already at the club too.
The defence has looked nothing short of fragile at the start of this season to say the least, so it is no surprise to see these kinds of links and they should only intensify as we near September.
Keep an eye on this one.
