Rangers great Kris Boyd and ex-Celtic man Chris Sutton have first Sky Sports exchange
Rangers great Kris Boyd joked “I’m fed up with him already” after having his first on-air exchange with former Celtic star Chris Sutton on Sky Sports.
Sutton has joined the punditry team at Sky after leaving a former role at BT Sports, which has now been rebranded TNT, meaning there should be plenty of back-and-forth between two men who represented opposing sides of the Old Firm divide.
And the good-natured banter began prior to Celtic’s Scottish Premiership opener against Ross County when Boyd asked Sutton if Carl Starfelt was headed for the exit door.
Sutton replied: “I can’t believe you’re starting with a negative!”
When it was put to Boyd that his opening gambit should have been to welcome Sutton to Sky, he jokingly replied: “I’ve been with him all week, I’m fed up of him already!”
The good fun continued with Sutton asking Boyd about Rangers’ signings, to which he said: “Absolutely buzzing with the new signings, and you’ll know all about them with your Rangers TV subscription! You’ve probably watched it quite a bit so far.”

All in good fun
Everyone knows Chris Sutton is not exactly shy about airing his opinions and him going up against Rangers great Kris Boyd on Sky Sports this season should make for some great viewing.
Both men love the clubs they represented and are passionate about their views on them. Already here you can see how both men plan to get in the jibes throughout what promises to be a thrilling title race.
But you can tell it will mainly be in good fun, with both men laughing and joking with one another…although maybe the laughter will die out once the tension begins to mount.
Rangers have made nine summer signings following the arrival of Jose Cifuentes from LAFC this week, as Michael Beale aims to overhaul rivals Celtic in the Scottish Premiership having missed out by seven points to the Bhoys last time out.
And if this clip is anything to go by there will be plenty of fun along the way.
In other Rangers news, Leon King could now be out for weeks.
