We’re delighted to welcome injury expert Dr Rajpal Brar as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the injury situation at Rangers...

It is probable that Leon King is ruled out of action for Rangers with bone bruising leading him to miss weeks of action, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.

The injury expert reacts as Gers were forced to enter the shop window and bring Leon Balogun back to Ibrox on a short-term deal.

The club even confirmed that he’s going to miss a significant amount of time and that’s a diagnosis that’s shared by Brar as well.

Discussing his situation exclusively with Ibrox News, Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, said, “A knock that leads to an ankle twist will be different than a stamp on the foot which leads to bone bruising but that’s probable as well.

“His recovery will be based on functionality (running, change of direction, etc) and pain/discomfort associated with it.

“There’s a good chance he misses a few weeks of action in the new season.”

The 19-year-old featured in 23 games for Rangers last season, playing a part in each of their six Champions League group stage games.

He was with the first team in Germany where he picked up an injury and will now look to get back to full fitness ahead of the new season.

No return date has been given yet but there’s a likelihood of him not being back until September given the severity of the injury.

In other Rangers news, the club are now battling an English side for the services of an Arsenal player set to leave this summer.
