Fenerbahce now want to sign Celtic man Liel Abada after signing Ryan Kent from Rangers

Fenerbahce have turned their sights to the other half of Glasgow, having already signed Ryan Kent from Rangers, they are now targeting Celtic winger Liel Abada, according to the Scottish Daily Mail [page 68].

In the print edition of the paper released on 20 July, it has been shared that the Turkish giants are ready to spend again as they prepare to move for Abada, whose price tag will be upwards of £10million.

The Celtic man has attracted interest from across Europe this summer, and although Fenerbahce face an uphill struggle to convince him to make the switch to Turkey, they are ready to make him their second Scottish Premiership signing this summer.

An interesting proposition

As fans of both Old Firm clubs will surely admit, a wing partnership between Kent and Abada could be deadly for the Turkish giants. Both are very direct attacking wingers with an eye for goal and excellent ball-striking ability and could be deadly in the Super Lig.

If Fenerbahce are willing to pay the £10million price tag quoted in the story, then Celtic will certainly have to negotiate and could well see Abada leave if he is tempted to move to Turkey.

Losing Abada this summer would see Celtic lose two key wingers in the shape of the Israeli and Jota who was sold to Al-Ittihad in Saudi Arabia for a reported fee of £25million.

Abada had previously been linked with a move to the Premier League with Crystal Palace, the Championship with Southampton, or even to the Eredivisie to join Ajax [The Sun, 17 April] so it would be a surprise to see him move to Turkey.

If Celtic do lose Abada, it will be good news for Rangers fans in the hopes of a closer title battle this season, having strengthened their own side this summer while their rivals appear to be losing key men.
